Cindy Palouian has a charismatic energy that brings her message of obtaining a healthy lifestyle to the forefront of her demonstrations. She has presented herself as a multitalented speaker and chef with a vast knowledge on food and their health benefits when used in various meals. Her passion for promoting good health through food shines and anyone able to listen to her presentations will instantly be inspired to follow a healthy lifestyle.
During a recent visit with Cindy, I had the opportunity to attend a very informative cooking class with her based on Brunch foods. Not only did we have fun cooking together, but I also learned about some of the healthier gluten-free ingredients that could be used in place of regular pasta and breads. I also saw the importance of controlling the portions of certain ingredients, like salt, when preparing the meals. Since I am recently retired and not a huge fan of cooking, I was surprised to find I really enjoyed the class (having such a fun partner as Cindy certainly helped). I may even try cooking a few of the new dishes at home!
In the hustle and bustle of being a wife, Mom, having a day job and working a personal business at night, I tend to forget to take care of myself the way I deserve. Sitting next to Cindy at work, I get a lot of one on one nutrition tips and information on overall health. She has helped me become more conscious of what I am eating. I have a tendency to eat clean, but with her guidance, I was able to find an eating pattern that worked best for my body. I changed up a few items I was eating and started to notice I am more satiated, have a bit more energy, and feel better with the small changes I’ve made! Cindy has made me really evaluate the small things my body has been trying to tell me and she has given me hope!
Knowing Cindy personally and her enthusiasm for health and nutrition, I invited her to be a guest speaker on healthy eating habits at a recent event held “Just For Girls” ages 10-14. There is so much to learn in this area, but managed to cover a lot of topics in a short period of time.
Among the topics, the girls got the chance to learn about the benefits of ‘real foods’ , they tasted some new fruits and made a tasty and nutritious smoothie. The over all experience was very informative and the girls had a great time learning!
